The TURF FIELD is Coming!

Enjoy a Night Out at Jimmy Mak's AND Help Make the Field a Reality!

We are in the final push of our fundraising efforts to install a state of the art turf field at Forest Park Elementary this summer. Permits are in place and our construction partners have all been selected. In order to get final sign-off from Portland Public Schools, we need to close the final gap in funding (roughly $50K).
As a part of that final push, Jimmy Mak's Jazz Club in the Pearl District has graciously donated the club for a private event on Wednesday night, May 23rd. This will be a great night of food, drink, and jazz by the world famous Mel Brown Band - with net proceeds going to the Field Renovation fund. There are two ticket options: $100 includes food ($75 goes to the field and is tax deductible) and $55 without food ($50 goes to the field and is tax deductible). We'll also be selling Golden Tickets at the door for $50 each, with the lucky winner receiving a weekend for up to 8 people in a lovely Gearhart beach house and 4 reserved seat tickets to an upcoming Timbers game! We're hoping to raise at least $10K for the Field Renovation from this event, so please plan to attend! Tickets will go fast, so don't delay. This will be an amazing sports field for the kids and families in the Forest Heights neighborhood, as well as the thousands of kids that play games on the field through PYSA, youth lacrosse, baseball, etc.

Season Registration Open May 18 Through June 30
Forest Heights Soccer Club's registration for the 2012 fall season runs is open May 18 through June 30, 2012. Registrations after June 30 will be accomodated on a space-available basis, except for Kindergarten, where there is always space. We register boys and girls from Kindergarten through 5th grade. Kindergarten registration is $95.00, all other registrations are $140.00. Those registering after June 30 will pay a $30 premium. Registration is available online, just click the yellow button in the upper-left corner of this website.

Regarding schedules: Practices for grades 1-5 will start on or about August 15th, though the exact date that our permits start is not yet known. Further, we will not know practice days and times until our annual coaches' meeting at the end of July, as we let the coaches pick practice times based on a lottery system. Games will be on Saturdays starting the weekend after labor day, and will generally run to the end of October. Older grades may see their seasons extend into November.

Kindergarten Boys will run for 8 weeks on Fridays 5-6pm at Forest Park Elementary starting September 16th. Kindergarten Girls will run for 8 weeks on Fridays 4-5pm at Forest Park Elementary, also starting the second Friday after Labor Day.

Summer Soccer Camp #1 Registration open now through June 4th

This year FHSC has partnered with Challenger Sports British Soccer Camps in order to bring you another opportunity to develop your childs soccer skills during the summer. This camp will be held at Mill Pond Park (as we anticipate field work to be underway at Forest Park Elementary!) from June 18th to June 22nd.

British Soccer Camps provide players of all ages and abilities with the rare opportunity to receive high-level soccer coaching from a team of international experts. Each day includes individual foot skills, technical drills, tactical practices, small-sided games, coached scrimmages, and a daily tournament. Equally important, the Challenger coaching staff provides your child with lessons in respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship and leadership. Camp programs include a free ball and shirt and a free British Soccer jersey for on line registrations 45 days prior to camp! Registration is limited to 20 players per age group. Cost is $102 per player.

Summer Soccer Camp #2 Registration Open May 15 Through July 25th
Our annual summer camp is scheduled for July 23rd through July 27th, from 9:00 to Noon at Catlin Gabel's Murphy Athletic Complex. The camp is run by Mike Davis, Catlin Gabel's athletic director and varsity soccer coach. The camp is great way for the kids to sharpen their skills whatever their level may be. Cost is $90. for the 5-day session. Registration is available online by clicking the yellow button in the upper-left corner.
